Welcome,
Habitat for Humanity of Steele-Waseca Area is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build decent, affordable housing. The houses then are sold to those in need at no profit and with no interest charged.
Volunteers provide most of the labor, and individual and corporate donors provide money and materials to build Habitat houses. Partner Families themselves invest hundreds of hours of labor - "sweat equity" - into building their homes and the homes of others. Their mortgage payments go into a revolving fund for the local affiliate that is used to build more houses.
Here you will find information on upcoming events, builds, as well as how to become a Partner Family.

Habitat for Humanity of Steele Waseca Area in 2011. The house had stood empty for some time as we awaited the perfect family for it. During this time the pipes had frozen and burst,
flooding the entire first floor. All the old flooring had to be torn up and replaced. Luckily the cabinetry was salvageable.
The project started in September, 2012 with dedication and closing in January, 2013. With modern updates and bringing everything up to code,
this house looks like new and is now home to Britt and Rylie.
