Habitat for Humanity of Steele-Waseca Area strives to promote and develop decent, economical housing in our community for needy and underprivileged families. Unfortunately We cannot do that on our own. We need the help of caring, enthusiastic, and active members of our community to manage build sites, donate supplies and services, and keep up with daily office work. One way you can help if you are unable to volunteer is to send a monetary donation.

We have partnered with GiveMN.org to provide you with a convenient and secure donation method. Habitat uses your donated dollars to purchase needed building supplies.

Cars for Homes

Habitat for Humanity of Steele-Waseca Area is participating in the Habitat for Humanity International's Cars for Homes donation program. The proceeds from such donations will go to help the local affiliate build more homes in partnership with families in need of decent, affordable housing.

Donations of cars, trucks, boats, snowmobiles, motorcycles, trailers, RVs or airplanes (yes, airplanes) are processed by Advanced Remarketing Services, Inc. (ARS), Habitat for Humanity International's authorized national agent. All types of vehicles are accepted, including farm and construction equipment, whether they are running or not. The better the condition of the donation, of course, the greater the financial proceeds to the affiliate. Donors must hold proper title and after the title is correctly transferred the donor is contacted about the pickup of the donation by a licensed and insured member of ARS's network of service providers.

After the donation is processed and sold on behalf of Habitat for Humanity of Steele-Waseca Area, the local affiliate receives the net proceeds of the sale and the donor receives a thank you letter acknowledging the value of the donation for tax purposes. After the costs of pickup, processing and sales are deducted, the affiliate will receive approximately 80 percent of the sales revenue.

To donate or find out more about the program you can go online at www.habitat.org/carsforhomes/ or call toll free at (877) 277-4344 and designate the local Habitat affiliate as the recipient of your donated car, truck, boat, snowmobile, motorcycle, trailer, RV, airplane, farm or construction equipment and receive the benefit of a tax deduction.
